Fancy yarns are yarns with special structures and appearances, obtained by processing fibers or yarns using special raw materials, equipment, or processes during spinning and yarn making. They are a type of yarn product with a decorative function. Fancy yarns generally consist of three yarns: a core yarn, a reinforcing yarn, and a decorative yarn. The core yarn acts as a skeleton, providing strength; the reinforcing yarn provides reinforcement to fix the pattern; and the decorative yarn reflects the fancy effect, such as thick and thin strands, loops, and braids.
Based on processing methods, fancy yarns can be divided into: fancy yarns processed by ordinary spinning systems, such as chain yarns, metallic yarns, and quilted yarns; fancy yarns processed by dyeing methods, such as mixed-color yarns, printed yarns, and rainbow yarns; fancy yarns processed by fancy twisting machines, which are further divided into overfeed types such as spiral yarns, braided yarns, and looped yarns, and control types such as boucle yarns and knotted yarns; and special fancy yarns processed by specialized spinning equipment, such as chenille yarns, core-spun yarns, brushed yarns, and flocked yarns.
